Blend Notes
Every oil sits in one of three note categories. Understanding them helps you build balanced, lasting blends.
Top Note
Evaporates in 15 min – 2 hours
The first impression of a blend — bright, light, and immediately noticeable. Top notes evaporate quickly and set the initial mood.
Middle NoteEvaporates in 2 – 4 hours
The heart of a blend — these emerge once the top notes fade and form the core character. Most essential oils are middle notes.
Base NoteEvaporates in 6+ hours
The foundation of a blend — deep, rich, and longest lasting. Base notes anchor and fix the other notes, making the blend last longer.
